[UKFSN Status] ADSL 6th Central Pipe Update

Some of you may have noticed that the ADSL Status indicator on our
MyAccount control panel (which is taken from Enta's NOC site) shows the
6th Central pipe as being active.

This is not actually the case. While Enta are in the process of
commissioning the new pipe they have not yet completed the work although
I hope to hear from them soon that it is done. At this moment there is a
delay as one of the BT NTE's (network equipment terminating the line) is
not working.

Having looked over the usage data for the past few days and discussed it
with senior Enta technical staff it's clear that there is spare capacity
in the network for now (with the exception of the short period between
10:30pm and midnight during the week and at the weekend when about 200
heavy p2p users are grabbing enormous amounts of capacity in addition to
the generally increased demand.
